About Us

Urban Roots Leeds is based in Roundhay and provides gardening services across Leeds.

 

We were set up as a not-for-profit community project in 2012. Operating from Chapel Allerton, our garden nursery opened up on weekends to provide plants, refreshments and company for local people. All profits from the project went to Inkwell Arts, a local mental health charity in Chapel Allerton.

 

Over the next three years the project attracted people from across West Yorkshire, making hundreds of pounds for Inkwell Arts. It provided a peaceful and friendly place for people to come together.

 

Unfortunately, due to family and work commitments, the project closed in 2015.

 

We are delighted to announce that in July 2024 the project is reopening as a garden maintenance, design and nursery business. We are keen to continue our charity work and will be offering monthly gardening sessions at local community projects.
